A WORD ABOUT PRICING

For the welfare of our dogs and their offspring our dogs are health tested. These tests are performed by veterinary specialists such as Board Certified, Veterinary Ophthalmologists, Cardiologists, & Orthopedic Surgeons. Dogs that don't have health clearances and strong health records throughout their pedigree should not be bred; this only perpetuates poor health.

Our dogs are fed a well balanced premium dog food to ensure optimum health throughout their lifetime.

Our females have an ultrasound during early pregnancy, and an X-Ray (only if necessary) late in the pregnancy. The reason for this is to ensure their health and safety during delivery.

Our puppies are wormed with one of the highest quality puppy wormers available, Nemex-2. They are wormed at 3,4,6, and 8 weeks of age as recommended by veterinarians as well as on the label. The puppies receive their first vaccination at 6 weeks of age and will be ready for their second vaccination within one week of going to their new homes at 9 weeks of age. Puppies should then receive a vaccination at 12 & 15 weeks and again at 1 year of age. We recommend Titer Testing annually after that. Heartworm & flea preventative should be started at 10-12 weeks of age and a rabies vaccination will be given at the 15 week visit. Basically you will take your puppy to the vet for three visits between 8-16 weeks of age, and then again at 1 year of age for boosters.

We don't take chances with the health and welfare of our dogs or their offspring; they are truly a part of our family.

Ethical Breeders

Breeding is a very complicated and serious decision; an ethical breeder will research pedigrees and analyze what can be expected from a certain set of characteristics to try to improve upon their own dogs as well as add to the breed as a whole. Responsible breeders have a goal they breed towards; they do not breed just to see what will be produced. They have a working knowledge of the genetics behind the dogs (colors, health issues, temperament, etc.) they will test breeding dogs for hereditary issues such as Hip Dysplasia; and they will only place their dogs in healthy, happy, suitable homes. Because of the intense knowledge and dedication it takes to breed appropriately, ethical breeders will sell their puppies with limited registration. Limited registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration. Your dog is eligible to be entered in Obedience, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing, & Agility. If you are an experienced show home and you wish to compete in Conformation Competitions or you are an experienced breeder; please contact me by phone and we will discuss your show experience and/or breeding program. If you do not show in conformation competitions and you are not an experienced breeder; full registration is unnecessary and would only be detrimental to the breed.
